The Ghanaian international worked under the Bosnian manager during his successful loan stint with the French League 1 outfit last campaign.
Waris made 24 league appearances for the Canaries, scoring five goals and recording three assists to help them finish 11th on the standings.
Ahead of the upcoming season, the 27 year old has returned to his parent club FC Porto where he is under contract until June 2022.
