Asante Kotoko winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi is confident ahead of their clash against Kano Pillars in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The first leg of the tie will take place in Kano on the weekend of August 10 with the return leg set for Kumasi two weeks later.
“We were open to meeting any team but we didn’t want to face a North African team. So, the draw, I would say, gave us the kind of opponent we wanted. We are both West African clubs. Our style of play is quite identical so the opposition would not be too difficult” he said.
“It surely won’t be easy for us but we are bent on qualifying and so will give it everything.”
Kotoko’s last appearance in the Champions League was in 2015. The Porcupines were eliminated in the first-round by Algerian side MC El Eulma.
The winner of the two-legged match will progress to the final round to play either Hafia FC of Guinea or Tunisian club, Etoile du Sahel.
