Ahead of Ghana’s 2019 AFCON campaign, President of the Ghana FA Normalization Committee Dr. Kofi Amoah emphatically stated that Coach Kwasi Appiah will be shown the door if he fails to win the trophy.
But seventeen days after Ghana’s disastrous exit from the tournament in Egypt, the fate of Kwasi Appiah is still unknown, and neither the Sports Ministry nor the Ghana FA has uttered a word on the future of the coach.
“If Kwasi Appiah fails to win the trophy, he’s gone,” these were the exact words of Dr. Amoah on Adom TV 6 months before the tournament.
Watch the attached video below:
Ghanaians are, however, not shocked over the development as Dr. Amoah has industriously worked himself into an addicted liar who must not taken serious anymore.
For those who had confidence in Dr. Amoah, Ekow Asmah, an adhoc committee member of the Normalization Committee, gave a hint of how disappointing he was set to be when he described the once respectable man as a ‘con man and a trickster.’
“I am more than ashamed of any association I’ve ever had with the Normalization Committee. Dr Kofi Amoah is a trickster and a conman,” Ekow Asmah fumed in the studios of Happy FM.
“After convincing me to bridge our differences and join forces to fight corruption in African football, look at what is happening under his leadership! I repeat again, he is a trickster and a conman” Ekow emphasized.
Following this chant from Asmah, Dr. Amoah’s consistent lies have been in a vicious cycle and to those who take him serious, it’s their choice.
Ahead of the extension of their mandate by FIFA in April, Dr. Amoah had consistently insisted that his committee was set to complete their mandate but Ghanaians were thrown into a state of shock when the committee had an extension following their inability to complete even one of their mandated terms of reference.
Haven’t failed to act on his own words following Ghana’s embarrassing outing in Egypt despite emphatically insisting that Kwasi Appiah will be sacked if he fails to win the AFCON, serious credibility questions keep popping up on Dr. Amoah.
But why is Kwasi Appiah still at post despite Dr. Amoah insisting he will be sacked if he doesn’t win the AFCON?
Why has Dr. Amoah failed to act on his own word?
Did he just speak without any authority to take that decision and why did he say that the coach will be sacked knowing he’s not in the position to implement?
Under Dr. Kofi Amoah, what, in your honest opinion, do you think, is the future of Ghana football?
