Normalisation Committee spokesperson Dan Kwaku Yeboah has been caught in unpardonable lie over the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He claimed in an interview with Peace FM that the total figure of $4.6m which was spent on the team during the continental showpiece is the smallest in recent times.

It’s factually incorrect for Dan Kwaku Yeboah to say that the approximate figure of $4.6m AFCON budget is the smallest budget in recent times.
In 2015, Ghana went to the AFCON with $3.1m. This was the balance from the $7.1m Ghana got from the 2014 World Cup.
Remember the Sports Ministry, after taking the ‘loan’ of $4m from the FA, asked the FA to use the $3.1m for the AFCON so the Ministry will pay later.
In 2017, Ghana went to the AFCON with $4.2m.
So this figure of approximately $4.6m can’t be the smallest in recent times.
Besides, Kwaku Yeboah, maybe just had a curious case of lapse in memory but here another angle to it:
Per the breakdown provided by the Sports Minister on the floor of Parliament, the money spent on the team which won only one out four matches played is in excess of $400,000 compared to the $4.2m spent in 2017.
The amount could have risen to $8m if the Black Stars had progressed to the semi finals of the tournament.
Ghana were booted out of the competition in the round of 16 stage by Tunisia.
The country’s spectacular failure to end a 37-year wait for an African crown has been dogged by allegations of financial malfeasance
