Phoenix Rising FC captain Solomon Asante has been named USL Player of the month of June by the league organizers after helping his club to win five consecutive games in the month.
The former Berekum Chelsea winger scored seven goals and made four assists in the month of June helping the club to win five games on the trot.
The Ghanaian international also broke the USL Western Conference record for most consecutive matches with a goal scored by tallying a goal in his 7th consecutive match in the club’s 4-2 win over Portland Timbers 2 on June 29th.
Asante also notched a brace in back-to-back matches to add to his goalscoring streak.
This is the first time Asante has received the honor since he joined the club last season.
He will be looking to continue his goalscroring streak when Phoenix Rising FC face Rio Grande Valley FC on Sartuday.
Solomon Asante is the league topscorer with 12 goals.
