General Captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has hinted Egypt 2019 could be his last AFCON after Ghana’s painful exit in the competition.
The Black stars were defeated 5-4 on penalties by the Carthage Eagles in the round 16 of the competition on Monday night.
Despite going down in the 73rd minute, the Black stars fought back and got the equalizer taking the game to penalty shoot out.
Ghana could not progress into the quarterfinals stage after Caleb Ekuban missed their third kick during the shootout as the North Africans won 5-4.
Speaking to the media after the game, the former Liberty professional player couldn’t confirm his retirement but hinted it could be his last African Cup of Nations for Ghana.
“I don’t really know, it could be my last African Cup of Nations. You might never know I have to go home and think about it”
Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all time leading goalscorer with 51 goals.
