The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his disappointment following Ghana’s exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Black Stars lost 5-4 on penalties to Tunisia after drawing 1-1 after extra-time on Monday night.
An own goal by Rami Bedoui cancelled out Taha Khenissi’s second-half strike as the game went into the extra time and subsequently into the shootout.
The North Africans converted all their spot-kicks with Ghana’s only miss coming from striker Caleb Ekuban.
Akufo-Addo in a post on Twitter, commiserated with the team;
“Like most Ghanaians, I am gutted by the exit of the Black Stars at AFCON 2019. I wish the team better luck next time. I am confident they will bounce back even stronger, and make all of us proud once again. 🇬🇭“
