There was joy on the campus of the Takoradi Technical Institute on Monday July 8, 2019 as the John Antwi Foundation presented sporting items as part of the 2019 charity projects themed “Giving back to the society”.
Apart from its engineering prowess, TTI is known for its heroics in churning out several sportsmen for the nation and received sets of jerseys, athletic body suits, footballs, shinguard and other sporting items from the Misr El Makassa player who sought to respond to a long time need of his former school.
In a short presentation at a mini assembly for all and sundry in the school, founder of the Foundation, John Antwi revealed he would soon adopt an uncompleted project which will see him put up a multi-purpose court for basketball, volleyball and handball.
Principal of the school, Mr Alfred David called on others to emulate the effort of the soccer star and praised him for the gesture.

The team ended its mission at the KITH MENTAL CARE HOME at Apollo, a suburb of the Takoradi Municipality to donate mattresses and other consumables to the care centre.
Speaking after the donations, the Ghanaian international promised to extend the service to other areas as he hopes to impact more lives through this initiative.
“When we go out there to play, sometimes we think about the people back at home too. For me it is always a good thing to give back to the society and that is why we are doing all this, he revealed.
“When I reflect on humanity as whole, it makes sense to help other and next year would be bigger than we have seen before”, Antwi concluded.
Meanwhile the Foundation had earlier donated toiletries and consumables to the Sekondi Central Prisons on Sunday in the two-day event which is estimated to about GHS 20,000.
Antwi who had an impressive season last term is expected to return to his base in Cairo as Makassa commence pre-season activities.
