Benin coach Michel Dussuyer is disappointed his side could not capitalize on Ghana’s red card in their 2-2 draw on Tuesday.
Despite playing with 10 men for the remaining 35 minutes of the second half, the Black Stars managed to take a point home in their opening Group F clash.
Mickael Pote gave Benin a shock lead after two minutes before Black Stars captain Andre Ayew restored parity for Kwesi Appiah’s men.
Jordan fired Ghana ahead, but Pote earned Benin a point after John Boye was dismissed for a second yellow card.
Speaking in an interview after the match, Dussuyer said he was delighted with the result although he thinks his side did not do enough with their man advantage.
“Ghana is a strong side with experienced players, it was not easy for them to play 10 against 11 but they managed very well. But I have some regrets because we didn’t manage our advantage well. But I want to take the positives from this game, we are very happy with the result”
Benin next face Guinea-Bissau at Ismailia Stadium on Saturday. kick off is at 8pm.
