Jordan Ayew’s 40th minute strike against Benin was Ghana’s 125th goal in the African Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars had scored 123 goals in 21 African Cup appearances before yesterday’s game.
But Andre Ayew’s goal against Benin on Tuesday’s encounter was Ghana’s 124th goal in 22 of the African Cup of Nations tournaments the country has attended.
Jordan Ayew scored the 125th before the second half capitalizing a mistake from the Benin defense and slot home from a tight corner.
The Ghanaian duo staged an influential role on the game that game the Black Stars a point in their Group F opener.
Ghana will face Cameroon on Saturday in their second group game.
