The indomitable Lions began their title defense with a 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau.
Two quick second half goals from Bisau Yahaya Banana and Stephane Bahoken secured the victory for the indomitable Lions.
Cameroon dominated the early stages of the game with some lovely exchanges in the middle of the pitch.
It took sometime before Guinea Bissau came to the game.
The first chance of the game came felt to Christian Bassogogin the 30th minute, after Ekambi rounded the goalkeeper and put him through on goal, but Bassogog sent the ball wide.
Joyskim Dawa came close again in the 35th minute, but his towering header was perfectly saved by the impressive Jonas Mendez.
Cameroon continued to pile pressure on Guinea Bissau but couldn’t find the breakthrough till the blast of the first half whistle.
Choupo Motin nearly break the deadlock after shooting from 25 yards, but Jonas Mendez again denied him….

Cameroon finally got the breakthrough in the 66th minute, Bisau Yaya Banana out jumped the Guinea defense and head ed the ball in.
Substitute Stephane Bahoken made 2-0 in the 70th minute, capitalizing from a deflection and sent the ball at the back of the net.
Federik Mandy nearly reduce the deficit for Guinea Bissau but his header was saved by Andrea Onana.
Despite a late pressure from Guinea Bissau, Cameroon remained resolute till the blast of full time whistle.
