Abdul Majeed Waris learnt of his exclusion from Ghana’s final 23-man squad in the media, FootballMadeInGhana.com has gathered.
A source close to the player revealed that Waris chanced on the leak which was reported by this website hours before the announcement was made public on Monday evening.

This explains speculations that he boycotted a team meeting in anger, a position his representative Yusif Chibsah has emphatically denied.

The 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan with French outfit Nantes, is one of five players cut from 28 players currently in camp in Dubai.
This is the second time Waris has been dropped from the Ghana final squad after making the provisional list.
He was axed by coach Avram Grant from the 2017 that came fourth after losing 1-0 to Burkina Faso.
