Following a magnificent season with Rayon Sport and helping them to clinch the Rwanda Premier League title, Ghanaian striker Michael Sarpong is in key contention for the Player of the Year award.
Sarpong on Sunday won the Rwanda Premier League title with Rayon Sport after a swashbuckling season.
The former Dream,s FC striker staged a wonderful outing for the champions bagging a brace in the final game of the season to help his side lift the trophy.
The Ghanaian scored 16 goals in the league to become his side’s second highest scorer in the league this season.
In addition, he scored 6 goals in other competitions to tally a total of 22 goals in his first season in the Rwandan League.
The brilliant striker’s contribution to Rayon Sport has been stupendous, putting him in a key competition for the player of the season award in Rwanda.
Sarpong joined Rayon Sport from Ghanaian side Dreams FC after a wonderful outing with the Still Believe lads in the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago.
