Rejuvenated Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu captained Udinese to a 2-1 win over Cagliari in the final league game of the 2018/19 Bundesliga season.
Badu, 28, who lasted the 85 of the game played a vital role in the heart of midfield as Udinese defeated Cagliari 2-1 to cement their stay in the Serie A.
The Ghana midfielder who missed most parts of the season due to injury was pulled out of the game amidst massive applauding from the fans with just 5 minutes to end proceedings.
Cagliari opened the scoring through striker Leornardo Pavoletti in the 17th minute but Emil Hallfredsson and Sebastien De Maio scored two second half goals to hand the Zebras all three points at the Sardegna Arena.
The win meant Udinese finished a difficult season in 12th place with 43 points just five adrift of relegation.
Agyeman-Badu is yet to decide on his future after yet another tough season for him, which saw him play only four games.
