The 2019 edition of the Best in Ghana Soccer Fiesta ended in a flamboyant style with Dreams FC pipping Hearts of Oak in the final game earmarked for the tournament at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Saturday.
With over 20 scouts from Europe for the week-long event, the Still Believe lads capped a beautiful tournament with a masterly played encounter with the Phobians, winning 1-0 over the visitors.
An intelligent strike from winger Ibrahim Issah handed the Phobians the painful defeat as Kim Grant made over 5 changes in his regular side for the clash.
The event provided a wider platform for scouts to pick the best talented players from Ghana for some of the top European clubs including Barcelona, Sparta Prague, Anderlecht, Stade Reims, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Leganes, FC Basel and many more.
Impregnated with a lot of incredible talents, the numerous scouts were spoilt for choice as young footballers from several clubs exhibited great display of football.
The tournament which featured over twenty Ghanaian clubs, both from the youth divisions and the Premier League, started on the 18th of May, 2019, at the Vision Park in Amrahia.
The successful event continued at the various match venues including Ajax Park at Legon, Presec Park, Tema Sports Stadium with the clash between Dreams FC and Hearts at the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu climaxing all.
The Presec Park had the greatest pack of the event as many of the games were held there between Monday 19th and Friday 24th May.
Two international clubs – Dauphine FC from Cameroon and Racing Club Academy from Ivory Coast – took part in the exercise that was characterized by romantic and sexy display of football.
Hearts of Oak, Inter Allies, Bechem United, Medeama SC, AshGold, Liberty Professionals and Berekum Chelsea were among the Premier League clubs that took part in the exercise which greatly sold Ghana to the world.
The Best in Ghana Soccer Fiesta has seen several players rising to the top of European football including Baba Rahman, Zuberu Sharani, Leonard Owusu, Dauda Mohammed, Benjamin Tetteh and many more.
