Bundesliga side Schalke 04 have table a €7 million offer for Ghana forward Bernard Tekpetey following a swashbuckling season with Paderborn in the Bundesliga II.
The Ghanaian international left the Royal Blues to join SC Paderborn 07 in the summer on a loan deal after struggling to enjoy regular playing time.
The deal was later made permanent after SC Paderborn expressed interest to buy the player completely but Schalke however inserted a buy-back clause in his contract.
Terkpetey, 21, staged an amazing outing in the Bundesliga II, registering 4 assists and scoring 10 in 32 league matches, to guide them to a Bundesliga promotion.
Reports in Germany have indicated the striker has attracted interest from his former club as the Royal Blues table an offer of €7m for the Ghanaian.
The Veltins-Arena side is looking to strengthen their squad for the 2019/20 season as they escaped relegation by a whisker.
Schalke are, however, eyeing Watford loanee to Fortuna Düssledorf, Dodi Lukebakio as the next option in case Terpetey’s deal does not materialize.
