One game to draw the curtain on the group stages of the Normalization Committee Special Competition and the Zone A looks the most interesting group.
Three clubs will be battling it out for the two semi final slots on Thursday.
Asante Kotoko are the group leaders, followed by Obuasi Ashanti Gold before Medeama SC of Tarkwa on 21, 20 and 19 points respectively.
All these three clubs have chances of qualifying to the semi finals depending on each other results.
As they stand.
Asante Kotoko – 21points
Ashanti Gold – 20points
Medeama SC – 19 Points.
Last round of games.
Aduana Stars – Asante Kotoko
Eleven Wonders – Ashanti Gold
Medeama SC – Berekum Chelsea
Coincidentally, all the three clubs are coming up against clubs from Brong Ahafo Region.
On paper, Medeama SC’s clash with bottom club Berekum Chelsea is the easiest of the three, and they are the only side among the three who will be playing at home.
The Mauve and Yellow side have won all their five games at home in the competition.
Whilst Berekum Chelsea are winless in any of their five games away from home.
A win for Medeama looks likely, considering the form of both teams in the competition.
But unfortunately for Medeama, they don’t have their destiny in their own hands and will have to rely on the other results to go in their favour in order to qualify.
In case Medeama win, Asante Kotoko win and Ashanti Gold also win. The two clubs from Ashanti Region will sail through ahead of Medeama.
Medeama after beating a club from Brong Ahafo region will still have to gain a favour from other Brong Ahafo clubs to qualify.
Asante Kotoko are currently commanding the top position and a draw against Aduana Stars will be enough to take them to the semi finals stage.
But matches between Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park have never been good for the Porcupine warriors.
Aduana Stars know a win against Kotoko is likely to end the Porcupines pursuit for the semi finals slot.
Asante Kotoko have never recorded a victory at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park and suffering as many as seven defeat at Dormaa.
C K Akonnor sides are unbeaten at the Brong Ahafo region in the competition so far recording two draws and a victory in three games.
First ever win at Dormaa and they will finish as the Zone leaders and will get the opportunity to play at home in the Semi finals.
The Porcupines can still qualify with a defeat, if either Ashanti Gold Or Medeama failed to record a victory at against Wonders and Chelsea respectively.
Second placed Ashanti Gold also face a stiffer test against Eleven Wonders.
The Miners only need a win to seal their qualification to the next stage.
But again they will have to overcome another team from the Brong Ahafo region to secure their qualification.
Ashanti Gold are winless in their three visits at the Brong Ahafo region.
They have lost one and drawn two in the three games. This will be their fourth game in the Region.
They have their destiny in their own hands and will not depend on the results of any their competitors to sail through in case they win at Nkoranza.
A draw can still take them through if Medeama SC fail to win their game.
With Medeama looking more likely to beat Berekum Chelsea at the Tarkwa and Abosu Park, the center of attraction will definitely be at Dormaa and Nkoranza where the two clubs from Ashanti Region lock horns with the clubs from Brong Ahafo Region.
The biggest question remains which two teams will come out of Zone A?
And which clubs will top arguably the most difficult Zone of the Competition.
Time will tell.
