Ghana Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has reversed his decision of quitting the national team after he was relieved off his main captaincy duties by coach Kwesi Appiah.
Gyan on Monday came out with an official release that he is done with the Black Stars after Kwesi Appiah’s decision to give the captaincy to a different player (Andre Ayew) and make him the General Captain.
There were various meetings behind the scenes and the President of Ghana HE Nana Akufo-Addo held a meeting with coach Kwesi Appiah and also had a phone meeting with Gyan.
The conclusion was that Appiah’s decision to appoint a new captain stands whilst Gyan will return to the team as General Captain. The Kayserispor striker heeded to the call and advise of the President of Ghana and has rescinded his decision thus making himself available for selection.
Below is his official press release on Wednesday.
