Ghanaian international Joseph Aidoo and Joseph Paintsil have won the Belgian Jupiler League title with KRC Genk after a 1-1 stalemate with Anderlecht on Thursday night.
The Blue and Whites collected 51 points to be crowned champions in a season that was characterized by their dominance.
Bryan Heynen broke the virginity of the game in the 11th minute for the home side before DR Congo international Yannick Bolasie restored parity for the visitors on the 65th minute.
The draw was all that KRC Genk needed to secure the title which they are winning for the fourth time.
Ghana U23 star Joseph Paintsil came on in the 58th minute for Japanese international Junya Ito whiles Aidoo warmed the bench for The Smurfs.
Another Ghanaian youngster Francis Amuzu in action for Anderlecht for just fifteen minutes of the game.
Aidoo made 30 appearances in the season for KRC Genk with just a goal as a center back while Paintsil who joined from Hungarian side Ferencvaros scored three goals from 24 games.
Genk are emerging as Belgium’s champion for the fourth time in his history.
Both players are in keen contention for a place in Kwasi Appiah’s provisional squad for the 2019 AFCON.
