A stupendous performance from striker Shafiu Mumuni on Wednesday saw contenders Aduana Stars crawling for mercy as Ashanti Gold recorded a 4-1 win at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
The Miners extended their unbeaten home run with the swashbuckling performance from the striker who returned from injury two weeks ago.
Skipper Shafiu Mumuni opened the floodgate for his side with a fine strike on the fourth minute before levelling the score by himself with an own on the 21st minute.
The match was halted for almost an hour after the sixteenth minute due to heavy downpour in Obuasi.
Shafiu Mumuni extends the lead for the homesters with two goals on the 28th and 42nd minute of the match.
The Miners were in a 3-1 lead before the break as Shafiu looked like scoring more after the break.
Aduana Stars returned from the break with a different approach but the Miners were already on cloud nine as they looked dangerous on any attack.
Amos Nkrumah increased the tally for the home side as the Miners showed no mercy to their opponents in the 85th minute.
The Miners are now 3rd on the table behind Asante Asante and Medeama SC.
