Asante Kotoko trainer C K Akonnor has expressed disappointment in his key players following his side’s defeat to Ashanti Gold in the NC Special Competition on Sunday afternoon.
A lone goal by John Agyakum handed the Miners a sweet revenge over their regional rivals in a game Akonnor’s boys failed to come to the party.
Speaking to the media after the game, the former Dreams FC coach fingered his key players for his side’s failure to pick at leat a point against his former club.
“The main problem was the ability to attack.
“We didn’t do well in the attacking force in the early minutes of the game. Defensively we were okay,” he said.
“We were not able to posses the ball very well. The ability to hold the ball was lacking.
“Honestly I’m a little bit disappointed in some key players in my team.
“When the going gets tough, I need to see men out to be able to control the game but we were not able to do that,” he disappointingly noted.
The defeat means Asante Kotoko have lost all their last three trips to the Gold City.
