Hoffenheim defender Kassim Nuhu is pleased with his SWAG player of the year nomination despite losing out.
Kassim battled Al Makasa’s John Antwi, Kotoko’s Felix Annan, KRC Genk’s Joseph Aidoo and Atletico Madrid Thomas Partey for the prestigious award in which the later won it.
Kassim who is having an impressive debut season in Germany mentioned that being shortlisted alone was a big motivation for him.
“SWAG, thanks for the recognition. The nomination alone was dear to me as it is going to urge me to even push harder in the coming years. Almighty bless you all,” he tweeted.
Kassim won the Swiss League to earn a nomination as the 2018 SWAG Footballer of the Year.
He joined Hoffenheim last summer from Swiss champions Young Boys has made 13 Bundesliga appearances this season and he has also become the first choice centre back in the Black Stars of Ghana team.
