The Vice President of the Ghana FA Normalization Committee Ms. Lucy Quist has resigned from her position, footballmadeinghana.com can confirm.
Ms. Quist announced her resignation from the committee on her official Facebook handle on Friday morning.
“I would like to express my profound gratitude to my colleagues on the Normalisation Committee, FIFA, the State and people of Ghana for the opportunity to serve in the capacity of the Vice President of the NC for the last 8 months since inauguration in September 2018.
“For personal reasons, it is now time for me to leave the committee,” she announced.
“The continued transformation of football in Ghana will require the support of everyone passionate about the game.
“I pray that all stakeholders will put their differences aside and focus on achieving the greater vision of football that not only produces great players for Ghana but by extension makes a positive impact on our economic fortunes,” she added.
Her resignation does not come as a surprise to many as it was always clear on the wall since her appointment.
Ms. Quist was named as a member of the committee on September 13, 2018 to normalize Ghana football by reviewing the statutes of the association, running the daily affairs of the FA and organising elections for a new executive committee.
But after serving their mandate, the committee headed by Dr. Kofi Amoah failed to achieve their target, forcing FIFA to extend the mandate by six more months.
Other members of the committee were Kofi Duah Adonteng, who was later changed for former Ghana defender Sammy Kuffour, and Naa Odoforley Nortey.
Following her resignation, Ms. Quist has called on all to support the NC to succeed in redefining Ghana football.
