Head coach of Liberty Professionals Reginald Asante has jumped to the defence of his tactics after a hard fought draw with Hearts of Oak.l at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Liberty Professionals played the entire second half of the game with 10 men after Michael Enu received his marching orders on the stroke of half time.
The difficulty of playing with a man down triggered Liberty to adopt delay tactics to the disgust of Accra Hearts of coach.
Speaking to the media after the game, Asante admitted he isn’t a fan of that tactics but that was the only option left for his team at that time.
āI have to say it is not my style to delay in a game, but the situation demanded it so we had to just draw a strategy to kill the tie,ā he said.
āIām not going to apologize for that display.
“The Hearts fans need to understand that football does not always give you what you want.
“Hearts should be patient. Liberty is not WAFA. They came to Liberty and won so they should take it if we have gotten a draw here,” he added.
Liberty Professional will face Elmina Sharks in the Match Day eleven of the competition at Dansoman.
