The ban on the home grounds of Aduana Stars – Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, has been lifted but not until the club serves a two-match home ban and pays a fine of Ȼ3000 after being found guilty of a misconduct charge.
Fans of Aduana Stars invaded the pitch to attack players and officials of Medeama SC during the Match Day 7 of the ongoing NC Special Competition.
The referees were also held hostage for hours and had to be whisked away by the police on duty.
The Normalization Committee handed Aduana Stars an indefinite home ban following the incident.
But the leadership of the club wrote to the NC to plead for a mitigation of the punishment, promising good conduct henceforth.
The NC have accepted their plea but not until they play two more games away from home with a fine of Ȼ3000
The decisions of the Disciplinary Committee are as follows: ”In view of the plea of Guilt and mitigation put in by the club before the Disciplinary Committee, the club is hereby handed a two-match ban from using the Nana Agyeman Badu Park, Dormaa as its home venue.
”In this respect, the temporary home ban imposed on the club by the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association would be lifted after Aduana Stars serves its next home ban.
”Additionally, the club is fined GH₵3000 payable to the GFA within 14 days from the date of communication of this decision.
”The Club shall be liable to a further fine of GH₵2000 if it fails to furnish the Disciplinary Committee with evidence of actions it claims to have embarked upon to avoid reoccurrence of such incidents at its home venue, including evidence of a complaint lodged with the police.”
