The Director of institutional and sports relations of Barça, Guillermo Amor says Kevin-Prince Boateng ‘suffered’ during the side’s 2-0 defeat at Celta Vigo at the weekend.

Ernesto Valverde had opted to leave several of his big names back in Catalonia, and there was an unfamiliar look to the side that took to the field, with Boateng leading the attack.

The Ghanaian failed to register a single shot and was lacking in ideas throughout the entire game.

Maxi Gomez opened the scoring for Celta after they had a goal ruled out by the video assistant referee (VAR).

VAR later awarded Celta a penalty and Iago Aspas converted from the spot to seal the win for the hosts.

“We played against an opponent who needed points, we knew he could get us in trouble “In the end we didn’t manage to do much. In the second half they took courage and did better than us. In the first half we played at a very good level. The young did very well. Boateng? There are times when you take part in more and others less. In the first half he had more mobility while in the second he suffered a little” Amor noted.

Anytime Boateng steps on the pitch in Blaugrana colors, the more he looks increasingly incomprehensible an unnecessary transfer.

In truth, he never looked like a Barca player since his arrival on loan from Sassuolo during the January transfer window.
