Defunct Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee Member, Mr Kojo Yankah has highlited the major challenges faced by the former administration in tackling the issues of hooliganism in Ghana Football.
This comes after the series of unfortunate incidents that has marred the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
Berekum Chelsea were the latest to be handed temporary home ban following the violence that broke at the Golden City Park, leaving two officials of Asante Kotoko heavily injured.
While Nana Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa has also been banned after another case of crowd disturbance and hooliganism in a game between Aduana Stars and Medeama.
“In our time we made a lot of laws to combat hooliganism at our stadiums. We wrote to the police to arrest and prosecute them . We took steps but the problem was with the out of court settlements. Offenders will bring their relatives to plead on their behalf and they are set free.
Our laws doesn’t even permit the military personnels to be inside the stadium but these days such laws are not being obeyed” Kojo Yankah disclosed.
