A beautifully converted spot kick by Sam Adams rescued a point for Aduana Stars as they drew 1-1 with Bechem United in the Match Day 6 of the NC Special Competition.
Emmanuel Owusu Boakye’s first half penalty gave Bechem United the opener before Sam Adams restored parity also from the spot.
Aduana Stars were the better team in the early stages of the game.
Bright Adjei came close to giving them the lead in the 29th minute, but excellent goalkeeping Afadzu denied with a wonderful save.
Bechem United broke the deadlock of the game in the 41st minute as Justice Anane was punished for a handball in the penalty box.
Captain Emmanuel Owusu Boakye stepped forward and converted it into the net to give his side the lead.
Aduana Stars had most of the balls but couldn’t convert the chances to goal.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Bechem United.
Aduana Stars draw level in the 51st minute when Bright Adjei was brought down in the penalty box after the was left one on one with the keeper.
Sam Adams stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to restore parity.
Both sides created a lot of chances but a great defensive display from both teams meant no additional goal will be recorded.
The game ended 1-1.
