Chelsea legend Michael Essien is relishing his return to the Stamford bridge for the Soccer Aid for Unicef match in June.
The Ghanaian international will join former team-mates Didier Drogba and Ricardo Carvalho in competing for the Soccer Aid World XI against Joe Cole’s England XI on Sunday 16 June, returning to play at the stadium he called home for nine years.
Esssien, who scored 25 times in 256 Chelsea appearances between 2005 and 2014 took to his social media page to express his joy.
