Ghanaian trainer Paa Kwesi Fabin was served a bitter pill on Sunday as he began his journey as the head coach of Uganda U17 national team.
Fabin’s side was pipped by Angola in their opening clash of the U17 AFCON ongoing in Tanzania.
A 32nd minute strike by Osvaldo Capemba gave the Angolans the winning urge of Uganda in a game that was dominated by Fabin’s side.
Despite having less than a month to prepare the team for the tournament, the former Ghana U17 trainer has shaped the Ugandan side and they were unlucky to have lost to Angola.
The former Asante Kotoko trainer was appointed last month as the head coach of the Uganda U17 side and tasked with doing well at the tournament and building a future U20 side.
Fabin played a series of freindly matches including a goalless clash with Kenya U20 side and a 4-4 stalemate with Gor Mahia U20 side before wrapping it up with a 2-1 win over KCC U20 side.
Uganda will face Tanzania in their next game before facing Nigeria, who beat Tanzania 5-4 in the first game of the tournament, in their last group game.
