Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed Daniel Amartey is making steady progress on his road to recovery after suffering a horror injury last year.
The Ghanaian international has been out since October 2018 when he broke his ankle against West Ham following an innocuous challenge with Michail Antonio.
Rodgers confirmed the 24 year old returned to training this week after initially being ruled out for the season.
“Daniel is with the medical and sports science team,” he told reporters.
“We’ll see how that goes between now and the end of the season, but everything is looking positive.
“He has been training as well over the last week or so, so that’s very, very promising.”
Amartey faces a race against time to return to full fitness ahead of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which starts on 21 June in Egypt.
