Magical Abdul Fatawu Safiu converted a second half penalty to rescue a point Asante Kotoko against Bechem United on Sunday.
Despite taking an early lead in the first half through Owusu Achau, the Hunters couldn’t hold on to their lead as Fatawu got an equalizer in the second half.
C K Akonnor gave Collins Ameyaw his first start since his return from Berekum Chelsea, coming on for Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The hunters started the game very well and went in search of the opener while Asante Kotoko looked composed.
Kwadwo Owusu Achiau put Bechem United ahead in the 24th by calmly putting the ball at the back of the net.
Stephen Nyarko came close to restoring parity but he fired across the face of goal.

Kotoko started the second half on top sending a lot of balls in the opponent’s penalty box.
Their effort was finally paid off in the 77th minutes as Fatawu Abdul Safiu was brought down in the penalty box.

Asante Kotoko huffed and puffed but couldn’t get the winner as the referee whistled for the end of the game.
