Ashanti Gold will be looking to get back to winning ways on Sunday when they come up against Medeama SC in Match Day 5 of the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
The 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko has left Ashanti Gold with no other option than to beat Medeama on Sunday.
The Miners are fourth on the league table trailing their Sunday opponents by a point despite playing two games more than them.
A win on Sunday will take them to second on the league table depending on the results elsewhere.
Medeama on the other hand have 100% record in the competition winning two matches out of two games. They still have one outstanding match against Berekum Chelsea.
With Asante Kotoko looking to take a comfortable lead on the table, Medeama will have to wrestle Ashanti Gold and Aduana Stars to take the other spot.
Sunday’s game will be Medeama’s first away game in the competition after the postponement of their opener against Berekum Chelsea.
