Communications Officer for Unity FC Kweku Edilson has rubbished Alhaji Grusah’s allegations of bolted gate proceeds against Unity FC.
Alhaji Grusah in an interview with Angel FM accused the CEO of Unity FC Opoku Afriyie of cheating his club on gate proceeds in the Match Day 1 of the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
According to Grusah both clubs agreed to share the gate proceeds accrued on that day since they are playing on the same day.
But Unity FC have since taken all the money without giving King Faisal their share.
Reacting to the story on Footballmadeinghana.com, Communications Officer for Unity FC Edilson denied the allegations tagging it as unfair to his club.
“It’s totally unfair from Alhaji Grusah. It was during the pre-match that I met one guy who introduced himself as the CEO of King Faisal.
“He proposed we add one of their guys to our guys at the gate so that when they are playing theirs we also do the same. But we rejected the proposal instantly and asked why we should do that,” Erikson narrated.
“We told them we had already advertised our match and printed our ticket for the game, so why should we share the proceed.
“Our match started at 1:00pm and end at 2:45pm.
“Why should we share our gate proceeds with King Faisal? He questioned.
“We made it clear to them we will leave after our game for them to come and stand at the gate.
“As of now I don’t know how much King Faisal got at the gate in their match. Why should we share ours with you?
The Sports Journalist also called on Alhaji Grusah to desist from disseminating lies about his club.
“We respect Alhaji Grusah a lot, but sometimes some of his actions are not the best.
“We are pleading with him to stop tarnishing the name of our club. We are doing our best to raise our brand and issues like this makes it difficult,” he added.
