Ashanti Gold got off to a winning start in the Normalization Committee Special Competition by beating Eleven Wonders by 2-0.

Two first half goals from Shafiu Mumuni and Salia Ouattara settled the game for the Miners at Obuasi.

Svetislav Tanasejiv started with his strong team by handing the trio of Richard Dodji , Ouattara Salia and Shafiu Mumuni starting roles upfront.

Ashanti Gold started the game on top dictating the game and having more of possession.

It took only 8 minutes for Shafiu Mumuni to break the deadlock.

Amos Nkrumah was brought down in the penalty box and Shafiu Mumuni stepped forward to give the Miners the lead.

Salia Ouattara doubled AshGold’s lead in the 19th minute with a long shot from the edge of the box.

It was a total dominance by Ashanti Gold as Eleven Wonders couldn’t deal with their pressure.

Ashanti Gold wasted a lot of chances in the first half as they could have added more than two goals.

There wasn’t much action in the second half as both sides failed to find the back of the net .
