Former Head coach of King Faisal Mallam Yahaya has declared himself available for the role of assistant coach of Asante Kotoko.
Reports in the local media suggest that the management of the club are in search for a new coach to assist C K Akonnor.
According to the reports Akakpo Patron has been demoted to the youth team hence the club’s search for a new assistant coach.
Speaking to Zuria FM on Monday, the former Dortmund player insisted he is ready to work with C K Akonnor because of their relationship and also share the same philosophy with the former Ashanti Gold coach.
“Before they started the Confederation Cup, I told them I want to assist C K, because we have similar mentality and ideas.
“But at that time Akakpo was there. Now that I hear they are looking for assistant coach, I think I’m ready,” he said.
“I know and trust myself that I can help Kotoko to win African Cup. I’m ever ready to be the assistants coach for Kotoko if I’m given the opportunity.
“Kotoko would have gone far in African campaign if was their assistant coach. Because I have the same plans and Philosophy as C K Akonnor,” he added.
Mallam Yahaya has coached King Faisal, New Edubiase United, Nzema Kotoko, Cornerstones and Tamale All Stars.
