John Paintsil is yet to complete a takeover of Wa All Stars, insiders have told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
There were widespread reports on Monday that the former Ghana international has sealed a deal to become the new owner of the Premier League club.
Owner Kwesi Nyantakyi – the former President of the Ghana FA – is forced to sell the club following his FIFA ban.
And though talks are advanced to have the club sold to Paintsil, the deal is yet to be consummated.
“We have agreed a deal but payments are to be made to consummate it and that is yet to be done,” a source told FootballMadeinGhana.com.
All Stars have been in the Ghanaian top flight since their promotion in 2007.
They famously won the Ghana Premier League in the 2015/16 season and represented Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, the Ghana FA has written to the club to clarify their status of ownership.
An official response is expected to be presented on Tuesday.
