Deportivo Alaves midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has rated South Africa 2013 African Cup of Nations has his best ever AFCON for Ghana
The midfielder made his full international debut on 13 October 2012, in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi and was selected in the squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Mubarak Wakasu scored four goals in the tournament as Ghana finished fourth in the competition.
And says that’s his best tournament despite reaching the finals with Ghana two year later in Equatorial Guinea.
In an exclusive interview with Footballmadeinghana.com, Wakasu applauded his performance in the 2015 AFCON but says the 2013 AFCON has been his best ever.
“2015 AFCON can be one of the best tournaments I have had with Ghana but I think South Africa was my best AFCON.
“I had my first AFCON in South Africaand my best too. Just that in 2015 we reached the finals, that is the difference,” he said.
The former Ashanti Gold midfielder finished the tournament as the joint top scorer alongside Nigerian Striker Emmanuel Emenike with four goals each.
