Ghana midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has lauded Asante Kotoko for the impressive performance in CAF Confederations Cup.
The Ghana Premier League side were eliminated from the group of the competition after suffering 2:1 defeat to Zesco United in their final group game in Ndola.
CK Akunnor led the club to the group phase of the competition for the first time after eleven years.
Despite the painful defeat, the Deportivo Alaves midfield dynamo believes the reigning MTN FA Cup champions deserved to be hailed.
“Asante Kotoko did very well despite their elimination,” he told Footballmadeinghana.
“I think we have to praise them because we didn’t expect this impressive performance. They must build on their elimination do something great,” he added.
Wakaso will be in action when Ghana host Kenya in the final AFCON qualifier this evening.
