The Black Meteors of Ghana took a giant step in qualifying for the Under 23 AFCON in Egypt as they gave Gabon a 4-0 mauling at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Brace from Osman Bukari and one each from Kwabena Owusu and substitute Bernard Tekpetey gives Ghana a strong lead as they take a giant steps towards the under 23 AFCON in Egypt.

Ghana’s
Kwame Baah (GK)- ( 7/10) – kept his composure very well throughout the game. Made sure he will keep a clean sheet ahead of the second leg .
Kingsley Fobi – ( 6 /10) Started the game slowly by committing a lot of mistakes at the back. Grew steadily and assisted Bernard Tekpetey with great cross to make it two for Ghana.
Gideon Mensah – ( 7/10) – Made a lot of surging runs on the flanks. Didn’t have to do a lot of defensive work as the Gabonese struggled to make any meaningful impact on his side
Musah Nuhu- ( 7 /10) Missed a glorious chance to add to his team lead after he was set up by Benjamin Tetteh. Recovered in the second half and comport himself very well.
Zakaria Fuseini ( 7/10) – Nearly gifted the Gabonese a goal after committing a silly mistake at back. Recovered very well and put up a good performance at the back. Combined very well with Musah Nuhu and made sure they keep a clean sheet.
Simon Zibo – ( 7/10) – Majestic outing by Zibo. Provided the needed shield for the back four. Very confident on the ball and tried his luck with several shot on the edge of the box
Joseph Paintsil – ( 7 /10) What a player he is. The former Tema Youth player justified why he must be in the team. Very good on the ball and always get the better of his markers. Came off for Isaac Twum.
Yaw Yeboah ( 7/10) – Decent game by the captain. controlled the midfield and dictated the midfield as his team romp to victory
Osman Bukari – ( 8/10) Assisted the first goal to Kwabena Owusu with a great effort on the wings. Got Ghana’s third and fourth goal with great finish.
Kwabena Owusu – ( 8/10) Classy finish from the Striker to break the deadlock of the game. Very dangerous on the air caused a lot of problems for the Gabonese defense
Benjamin Tetteh – ( 6 /10) Was used out of position hence struggled to get involved. Laid a very good pass for Musah Nuhu but the former wafa player failed to capitalize on it.
Substitute
Bernard Tekpetey – ( 7/10) – Got his name on the score sheet with his first touch. Impressive cameo by the Padderbon attacker. Add more on the attack for Ghana.
Issac Twum – ( 5/10) Didn’t make any impact in the game after coming in for Joseph Paintsil.
Ricard Danso – ( – /10) Came in late for Osman Bukari .
Gabon
1- Apaya Ngouegne – ( 5 /10) Very poor outing from the goalkeeper. Failed to organized his defense as his team struggled to find solutions in the game.
4- Bilong Moudouna (6 /10) Caused his team for Ghana’s fourth goal. Failed to mark Osman as the striker outwit him and finished with ease.
6- Loundou Ngouye – ( 5 /10) – Struggled to deal with the pace of Kwabena Owusu as Ghana run riot. Won his team a lot of aerial duels .
21 – Madouna Hadouna ( 5/10) Struggled to get himself in the game even when his team was on top. Committed a lot of fouls .
17- Youmou Ngadi Obiang -( 5 /10) Showed his quality when his team was on top during the first half. But fazed out in the second half as the whole team collapsed.
20 -Mboundou Hboudou ( 6/10) – One of the brightest players in the Gabonese team. Kept his cool throughout the game and won many challenges in middle of the pitch.
3- Oyoubi Oty Grege – (5 /10) His threat was minimized as Ghana hel many of the balls. Was tormented by the impressive Osman Bukari.
10- Babicka Shavy – ( 6/10) Unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet after his strike hit the goalposts. Was a constant threat for the Meteors defense.
7- Hboulou Nzigou – ( 6 /10) Caused Fobi a lot of problems in the early stages of the game with his tricky skill and pace in the wings. Contributed nothing in the second half.
9 – Ovono Essogo – ( 6/10) Showed a glimpse of his quality when ever his team attack, was marked out by the indefatigable Zakari.
Substitute
11- Elloh Nze – (5 /10) Came in for the impressive Shavy, couldn’t continue where Shavy ended. Later abandoned his attacking duties to join in the defense as his side try not to concede another goal.
14 – Naango Vianet -( 5 /10) – The coach will be disappointed with his cameo, as his introduction led to his team’s collapse in the second half. Was lost in the game and never find his feat.
