Eight years ago, the U23 side of Ghana – The Black Meteors – won gold at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Ghana drew 1-1 with South Africa after extra time forcing the game into penalties.

Led by Coach Kwasi Appiah and assisted by Maxwell Konadu, Ghana equalized from the spot when Goldbert Fiamenyo was brought down after South Africa had taken the lead.

Ghana’s Ahmed Adam converted the final penalty kick to give Ghana the gold medal in a tournament the team was overly impressive.

Mahatma Otoo, a key player of the side posted the video of their gold-winning feat on his wall on Tuesday to celebrate the gold old days.
