Nkana FC defender Richard Ocran has apologized following his red card on Sunday against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederations Cup Group C game in Kitwe.
The Ghanaianwas sent off for elbowing Kotoko striker Sogne Yacouba the 74th minute as his side went on to win by three goals to one.
Despite Ocran saying that the Burkinabe import insulted him in twi (a local Ghanaian dialect) which made tempers to flare, he has apologized for his actions.
“I’m sorry for myunfortunate actions on Sunday against Sogne Yacouba. It was unintentional even though tempers were high” He told Radio Silver
“I’ve not been able to sleep since Sunday due to what happened and I apologize to my team mates, the supporters and also to Sogne Yacouba and the entire Kotoko team as well as my fans in Ghana who were willing to support me in the return fixture.”
Ocran will not feature this weekend when Nkana play as guest to Kotoko in Kumasi.
