Accra Hearts of Oak displayed a magnificent performance to beat Dreams FC to lift the S.T. Nettey Memorial Cup on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A brace from Joseph Esso catapulted the Phobians to lift the maiden edition of the S.T. Nettey Memorial Cup despite Patrick Arthur’s brilliant spot kick to reduce the tally.

Hearts of Oak
Ernest Sowah (GK) – 5/10
Not a very busy day for the shot stopper but he responded positively on the few occasions he was called to act. He, however, organized his defenders well.
Chirstopher Bonney – 5/10
Bonney did not an excellent game but was not bad. He hardly surged forward to cross balls but was apt defensively.
William Denkyi – 6/10
Beautiful game from the left back. His runs on the flanks were very influential and floated in many crosses. He defended well too.
Raddy Ovouka – 6/10
Not a bad performance from the makeshift center back. Ovouka stepped in perfectly for Hassan and Benjamin Agyare. He was aggressive and very resolute at the back.
Robert Addo – 6/10
His partnership with Ovouka was magnificent. He was aggressive and resolute at the back. His passes were good and clearances, apt.
Malik Akowuah – 6/10
He was defensively apt and his passes were on point. One of his best games for the Phobians, perhaps.
Aminu Alhasan – 5/10
He was very aggressive and combative in midfield. He disorganized the Dreams FC midfield in the first half.
Fatawu Mohammed – 8/10
Fantastic game by the skipper. He was resolute, swift and apt with his crosses and passes and strengthened the side’s midfield.
Joseph Esso – 8/10
Grabbed a brace to aid the Phobians to win the game. He did not only score but was impressive as well.
Kofi Kordzi – 5/10
Overly wasteful upfront and misfired on numerous occasions. He couldn’t break through the Dreams FC defence.
Kwadwo Obeng Jnr. – 5/10
He was not overly impressive. He was slow with his movements and did not rain in many crosses.
Substitutes
Manaf Alhassan – 3/10
Came on with a lot of energy but lasted for less than 20 minutes in the game.
Michelle Sarpong – 3/10
Not a bad game for the youngster but he couldn’t impact on the game positively in a greater part of the time he came on.
Tony Quayson – 2/10
Not a good game for the chap. Poor display despite not coming on early.
Benjamin Efutu – 2/10
Poor game for the substitute.
Dreams FC
Tahiru Alhassan – 5/10
The youngster did not have a bad game but was relatively not on his best. He conceded two goals with many claiming he could have saved the first goal.
Issah Yakubu – 7/10
Wonderful game by the center back. He was strong and resolute and his clearances were apt. he, however, could have done better to stop the first goal.
Abdallah Masawudu – 6/10
Not a bad performance for the youngster especially in the second half. He was on point with his slide tackles and his timely clearances were stupendous.
Michael Agbekpornu – 5/10
Calm and confident on the ball. He was great with his passing and excellent with his aerial duels until he was forced out through injury.
Kingsley Owusu – 5/10
Not a bad game for the young winger. He floated in some few crosses and dropped back deep to defend on some occasions. He had a good game.
Samuel Nii Armah – 4/10
Not a good game for the Black Stars B midfielder. He struggled with his tackles and failed to provide a good shield for his center backs.
Patrick Arthur – 6/10
Hehada relatively good game. He improved drastically in the second half and provided a string midfield partnership with Cletus who came on from the bench.
Samuel Alabi – 8/10
Beautiful performance from the offensive midfielder. He was sleek with his passes, apt with his dribbles and excellent with passes.
Michael Amoh – 7/10
Had a good game and was a threat to the Hearts defenders anytime he had the ball.
Eric Gawu – 7/10
Was a great tormentor of the Hearts defenders. He forced what appeared like a penalty but the referee ignored. He created many chances for his side.
Razak Cromwell – 4/10
Not a good game for the youngster. More room for improvement.
Substitution
Samuel Pimpong – 5/10
Came from the bench to revitalize the Dreams FC team. He was swift on the flanks and apt with his crosses.
Cletus Nombil – 5/10
Replaced Samuel Nii Armah right after the first half and was phenomenal.
Richard Addae – 4/10
Was not overly impressive after coming on for Michael Amoh.
