Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak Alhaji Akambi has expressed his excitement on his team’s return to the Accra Sports Stadium as they host Dreams FC on Sunday.
The Accra Sports Stadium was closed prior to the Women AWCON for renovation works to take place, rendering the Phobians homeless.
Hearts where forced to adopt the Cape Coast Stadium for their home games during the truncated Ghana Premier League last season.
They are set to return to their traditional ground on Sunday when they come up against Dreams FC in the S. T. Nertey Memorial Cup.
Speaking to Ashh FM on the game, Alhaji Akambi said, “It’s a good feeling for Accra Hearts of Oak to return to the Accra Sports Stadium after almost two years off.”
“I know our supporters have missed the team playing at the Accra Sports Stadium so they will come in their numbers to cheer the players up. The fans will witness very nice football on Sunday against Dreams FC,” he added.
