The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has apologised to the Parliamentary Select Committee for Sports and Culture over a leaked audio from their meeting on Wednesday.
Following the meeting between GHALCA officials, Premier League representatives and Division One League officials, submissions of some of the leading officials of the clubs were leaked to the media.
The leaked audios of the intelligent submissions of Dreams FC Executive Chairman Kurt Okraku and bankroller of Heart of Lions Randy Abbey became subjects of discussions on several media platforms on Thursday.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of GHALCA, Kudjoe Fianoo, the action of recording and leaking the proceedings of the meeting to the media is disgraceful and embarrassing.
“We found the actions of those members as disgraceful and embarrassing if weighed against the sound advice offered to the clubs by the Honourable Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Alex Kofi Agyekum at the start of the meeting,” the statement noted.
“We wish to render out profound apology TP the Honourable Chairman and the Committee for Youth, Sports and Culture for that indiscretion and with the firm assurance that this unfortunate incident would never reoccur,” the statement added.
The shameless act by the clubs’ delegation who attended the meeting has been widely condemned by the Ghanaian public describing it as irresponsible.
