Ghana Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has lost his father Alfred Baah Yeboah.

According to reports, Mr. Baah Yeboah passed away on Monday at the age of 62 after a short illness.

Baah Yeboah is said to have been on admission at the Sunyani Government Hospital for close to four weeks.

Acquah’s brother Leslie confirmed the news of his father’s demise.

”Our father has been well for some time now and was receiving treatment here in Sunyani.” Leslie told Ghanasoccernet

“Things were not improving so he had planned to transfer him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital today (Monday) only for me to get informed at around 12 midnight that our father is no more,”

Acquah was on target on Sunday for Empoli who humiliated Sassuolo by three goals to nothing in a Serie A clash.

The midfielder’s mother watched the game at the Stadio Carlo Castellani and he dedicated the goal to her.
