A chain of lies have been hanging on the neck of the Ghana FA Normalization Committee since assuming the position of the Executive Committee to rebuild Ghana football.
The latest is the claim by the Spokesperson of the Committee Dan Kwaku Yeboah – that only two clubs confirmed their participation in the proposed Special Competition, necessitating its cancellation.
“Yesterday was the deadline for the clubs to confirm their participation for us to pay them their appearance fees. But as at 2pm only two Premier League clubs (Kotoko, Dreams FC) and the 48 Division One clubs had confirmed. This goes a long way to show that the Premier clubs aren’t ready to participate,” Dan Kwaku Yeboah told Asempa FM.
His claim has been sharply condemned by the General Manager of Bechem United Lord Zico who insists his club confirmed participation in the competition branding the committee as blatant liars.
“The NC is telling lies because Bechem United met the deadline given by them. May be they couldn’t check the email to verify before their statement and also they may not know that email is also a way of communication,” he told Space FM Sports.
The latest show of dishonesty by Dan Kwaku Yeboah and the Normalization Committee follows a litany of previously extolled by the Normalization Committee.
The Committee in their maiden ‘Meet the Press’ encounter told Ghanaians that they are doing a sacrificial job and are not paid for taking up the mantle to restructure Ghana football.
But the claim was largely found to be false as the President of the Committee Dr. Amoah is paid $6500 a month with his vice and other members taking home $5000 and $4000 respectively.
Despite this revelation, the boisterous committee never apologized to Ghanaians for previously telling lies but swept the matter under the carpet.
As if the dishonesty towards Ghanaians was not enough, the Spokesperson of the Committee Dan Kwaku Yeboah again disclosed that the documents for the Zylofon Cash sponsorship for the Ghana Premier League were missing from the GFA Secretariat.
But that claim was swiftly denied by the Vice President of Committee Lucy Quist insisting she had seen the documents and even calling on the sponsors to meet with the committee for restructuring of the contract.
Strangely Lucy Quist was coerced to swallow back her words few hours after making the revelation on Joy FM claiming she had not seen the documents as she earlier admitted.
The quagmire of lies seem unending for the committee as Dan Kwaku Yeboah has been caught in another dramatic show of dishonesty over clubs that confirmed participation in the Special Competition.
With Lord Zico swiftly and sharply revealing that his club confirmed participation in the competition, the Normalization Committees long rope of lies seems to be crushing to an end.
