Head coach of Sudan National team Zdravko Lugarusic has blamed the lack of domestic league in Ghana for Kotoko’s defeat to Al Hilal.
The former Kotoko gaffer believes the Sudanese league which is currently ongoing aided Al Hilal to beat the Ghana Premier League side since the Ghanaian leagus has been halted for sometime now.
Luga believes that the Porcupine Warriors have the needed quality to beat Al Hilal but their inactive league affected their play.
“They don’t play as a team. It’s easy to see that upstairs than sitting on the bench.
“Ghana Premier League is not going on but in Sudan, Al Hilal have played 14 games already. They play on Sundays and Wednesdays.” He told Kessben FM Sports.
“Kotoko are not fit, they are lagging behind in fitness level. It will be very difficult for them if it continues like this”.
Asante Kotoko will face ZESCO United on Wednesday February 13th in the second Group C clash in the CAF Confederations Cup”.
