Former Ghana international Ibrahim Sunday believes Asante Kotoko are under pressure to perform in the CAF Confederation Cup after the 1-0 defeat to Al Hilal in Sudan.
The former Asante Kotoko player and coach thinks the Porcupine Warriors are impregnated with many inexperienced players hence putting the team under pressure.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Zambian giants ZESCO United in their second Group C clash and Sunday feels the pressure can sway the side.
“Some of the players are inexperienced in such a competition therefore pressure is bound to set in.
“Pressure is inevitable but it is our duty to always encourage them and try letting them understand that both home and away games are equal,” he said on New Mercury Sports.
“Now that they have lost their first game of the group stages, it’s most likely the fans will be expectant of them to deliver especially playing at home.
Ibrahim Sunday managed Asante Kotoko and led them to their second
African Cup of Champion Clubs, now CAF Champions League, victory in 1983.
