Black Stars defender John Boye has been rested in Metz FC’s Coupe de France Round of 16 game against Union Sportive Orleans Loiret Football on Tuesday.
The game is currently underway but the Ghana international defender who is his club’s regular center back alongside Zambian Stoppila Sunzu was named on the substitute bench and could come to play some minutes.
Manager Frederic Antonetti decided to start the former Rennes defender from bench after he played full 90 minutes in the Metz 1 Troyes 1 Week 23 game in the French Ligue 2 three days ago.
Boye, 31, has been in fine form this season for the French second-tier side as they lead the Ligue 2 with 49 points after 23 games and the Ghana has started 22 of those games.
